Two words than can seem small and insufficient at times, but also the first two words that come to mind to express our appreciation and gratitude.

Excellence is a story born from our stories and from your stories, too. This is about moments we feel every day of our lives and that you’ve connected with in a way we always knew would be possible if we got them into your hands, candy coated in magic and adventure and the very best storytelling we know how to deliver. Every lesson we’ve learned in our years in comics was brought to this book, as we pushed with every single line to live up to the book’s title.

The last month has been a wild ride for all of us as we’ve been smashing through stretch goals, doing interviews all over the place, seeing the support from across the comics community, and partnering with living legends like MURS. We’re going to have more updates for you on surveys, fulfillment, and all the great limited-edition items you’ve purchased during this campaign.

However, the most incredible feeling has been seeing all those new readers who see themselves in Excellence and immediately understand why we had to make this comic. They understand why this story needed to be told and why the story of this fight will always need to be told.

We made this comic because it’s the one we wish we had when our comics journeys began, and it’s humbling to think about how many readers will start their comics journey by seeing themselves immediately represented from Page One on Day One.
